Wearable Computer/PC
Designed to fit in a pocket (pouch) of an infantry soldier, the Wearable PC is light and compact, weighing just 1.25 lbs. Integration with a chest(pictured) or a helmet mounted display as shown in the Wearable Infantry Soldier Computer System, provides a soldier access to a powerful computer system without interfering with his or her duties, making this product a very powerful tool for today's military.
The Wearable Computer is not a rugged PDA but a fully functional x86-based military computer with a 1 GHz processor and 512MB SDRAM, giving it a huge advantage over a PDA by utilizing its processing power for running full installations of either Windows or Linux applications.The WPC uses a solid-state flash hard drive for up to 8GB of internal storage. The Wearable PC has built-in 10/100Mbit Ethernet, and capability to connect external devices via its RS422, RS232 and USB 1.1 ports. It can be customized with additional features including Video Capture, Audio, GPS, Modem, Fire Wire, USB 2.0 and more.
